The IAR-DST refers to the online Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool developed by the Department of Health and this tool is also incorporated into the CEPSHN referral form for a number of our commissioned mental health services. The goal of the IAR-DST is to assist general practitioners and other clinicians to determine the most appropriate level of support for a patient/client at a point in time, that is the least intensive intervention likely to result in the best clinical outcome. The tool was developed to ensure a national, standardised, consistent and objective approach to assist with mental healthcare recommendations for individuals accessing mental health care in the primary care sector. The IAR-DST works within the framework of a stepped care approach to mental health referrals and is to be used by a clinician alongside a comprehensive mental health assessment. The Mental Health Services Directory is a local resource for GPs and other mental health referrers working within the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN). The Mental Health Services Directory was developed to provide a digital resource where relevant local service information can be easily located by GPs and other mental health service providers for patients/clients requiring mental health support. The goal of the directory is to efficiently enable referrers to find services commensurate with the level of support required for their patient/client and as such the directory is designed to be used alongside the IAR-DST (see “What is the IAR-DST?” under main menu), providing easily accessible, up to date information on services mapped to each of the 5 IAR-DST levels of care. To optimise efficiency and the user experience, services can be filtered further by other key variables such as age, postcode, gender, modality of treatment, cost, availability etc to maximise relevant service options.
The intent of this directory is to provide a comprehensive and varied listing of clinical mental health, psychosocial support and crisis services within the CESPHN region, however this list is not exhaustive. CESPHN does not specifically endorse the work of the services listed, but will attempt to ensure all information provided is accurate and regularly updated, so professional judgement can be used to determine whether a service is appropriate for your patient/client.

We provide comprehensive assessments and care over a short stay of one to three days. A wide range of specialities and health care professional will collaborate with the consumer, their family and carers, and other services to define a care pathway for optimal transition from hospital to the community. This comprehensive care plan will ensure effective after-care, relapse prevention, and avoid lengthy admission.

Camps generally occur on a Friday afternoon through to a Sunday afternoon but can occur during weekdays during school holidays.
