The supports and assistance available include critical incident debriefing, mediation, workplace counselling and mental health relapse prevention. Evidence shows that using BITE BACK can decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety and increase wellbeing. A combination of fun, interactive activities, quizzes, animations and information across nine positive psychology domains including gratitude, optimism, flow, meaning, hope, mindfulness, character strengths, healthy lifestyles, and positive relationships.

Grief is the natural response to loss, and most people, over time, adjust to loss in their own unique way. Sometimes, however, additional stressors or factors make loss more difficult to adapt to. Historically people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, plus (LGBTI+) have experienced widespread social stigma and discrimination. People who identify as LGBTI+ may have higher levels of psychological distress and anxiety and may have reduced support networks, particularly as they age. These are important considerations in relation to grief, loss and bereavement.

PSS Suicide Prevention Service (SPS) is designed to assist individuals with recent risk who no longer have acute needs. This service is for individuals who would benefit from intervention that specifically focus on suicide prevention, prevention of future risk taking, identifying early warning signs and triggers and who are best supported in the primary health care setting. The primary objective of the Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) will be to treat and support individuals at increased risk of suicide or self-harm at a critical point in their lives.

PSS SPS is not designed to support people who are acute and immediate risk of suicide or self-harm. Individuals at acute risk should be referred immediately to the relevant state or territory government acute mental health team (or equivalent).
